The Research and consultancy activities have been integrated with teaching and learning programmes of the Institute. The students have to undertake a course in Research Methodology, seek assignment with industry during summer and to work on some problem or issue leading to a management action or IT solution.

   The teachers guide the students in this respect.  The students in IT are required to get actively involved in industry based software development, system administration and e-business solutions, The reports and monograms generated by students and faculty are the important sources of new knowledge, ideas and renewed understanding in the areas of Management and information Technology.  The faculty are involved in curriculum development, courseware development, systems and case studies etc.

    Under the proposed programme of 'Interface', the Institute will accept consultancy projects either on its own or in collaboration with other Institutes and industry in functional areas of Management and Information Technology. BVUYMIMK also proposes to start a 'Incubation-Centre'  in IT related areas, which will sponsor deserving past & present students with exceptional ideas to take up software development. The institute will provide all the facilities required for the software development process.
